Did you think I could stop at just one post?
It's my SuperBowl, baby!
The Hosts

One line, old-man zingers do not a good Oscars show make.

Why can't Jon Stewart come back?
The Orchestra Music
Worst ever.
Really odd song choices played in elevator style = yuck.
Particularly bad after Catherine Bigelow one for Best Director.

Following her speech was a dreadful rendition of I Am Woman, Hear me Roar.
The Performance of Oscar Nominated Songs
Awful. Nobody likes Interpretive Dance. Nobody.
The Memoriam Montage
Best ever. I really liked the live music by James Taylor

The Memoriam Montage
Best ever. I really liked the live music by James Taylor
(even though I have never been a JT fan).
It was touching and personal.
The Intro of Best Actor/Actress Categories
Also good. I really liked the personal touch of former
colleagues talking about each nominee.
The Set
Seemed especially cool this year.
I liked the old Hollywood feeling, but it also seemed modern.
Only, once in a while random backdrops would appear that made no sense to me.
Did anyone else notice that?

I loved the set too! I told Dave that the white floor was so pretty but he didn't really care. Glad you did.
I agree that the dance number was a bit random...interpretive hip-hop if you will. Interesting side note though is that "the other Asian" from Glee was one of the choreographers. My question is why did George Clooney look so irritated the whole time?!?
"hy are you posting about the Oscars? You're not even an actress."
Sorry, just wanted to see how dumb it must feel to be the lasagna lady.
Jimmy
LOL! That was classic.
I hope I never know what it feels like to be the Lasagna Lady!
I thought the set was a bit odd. Last year they had a backdrop made out of Swarovski crystals and this year they had weird random lamp shades. Like someone was going to get drunk and suddenly need a lamp shade to put on their heads. Weird! I too hated the interpretive dance. I did, however, keep looking for dancers from So You Think You Can Dance. I thought I saw Kayla but maybe I just wanted to see Kayla to make it somewhat interesting. You would think with Adam Shankman as the director of the Oscars the nominated songs category would have been better. Disappointing.
Aaaah! I LOVE interpretive dance. I actually admired the dance routines for the first time in a long time. Now I have to "question my taste level" (to quote Project Runway).
