I hate flies more than anything in the entire world.Seriously...they are so annoying.
And for some reason they LOVE this house.So today I went on a fly-killing rampage.
"Couldn't we make a nice little home for the flies at our house?"

decomposition. garbage, poo, people...they eat it all. not to mention to provide food for spiders, which I hate more than anything else in this world.
Flies have no purpose. Opposition in all things I guess.
Here's my horror story starring flies - - at our last AF base housing, we suddenly had an influx of flies and we didn't know where they were coming from at first. My husband was killing literally dozens and dozens one morning. Maintence came to check it out, figured out they were coming in from an outside vent, put up a screen, and we thought that would be the end.
NO. It got worse. My husband and MIL were killing TONS and TONS. On top of that, we had just gotten home from the hospital with our little boy who had been in the NICU for 2 months.
We kept in contact with maintence, they said they would come by, we left for some appointments for a few hours, then came home to the house FILLED with flies on nearly every wall-even hanging from the fan pull chains. It was straight out of a horror movie. My husband got on the phone, threatened them all within an inch of their life if they didn't fix this once and for all.
Finally someone does some in depth probing (really? the first 300 flies didn't warrant that?) and they discover a dead squirrel under the house near that hallway vent...apparently it was a 'home for future fly generations' (is that a nice way to say it?). Luckily, when they discarded of it, the flies went completely away. But now, if there are more than 3 flies in our house (we've since moved) at a time - - I get very grossed out!

I live in the city, near all the hugest flies. ICK! they only come in summer though. thank gosh! Good luck!
Ditto! I Hate the annoyance of all flies! but I do get where they fit in the plan... Now Roaches it's another story!
Hey Emilie..I'm a follwer of your blog but this is me leaving a comment for 1st time..Back at home(India)..my mom & granny always burnt incense sticks on the dining table or near the window..they say it helps to keep the flies at bay & also house smells good:)
You might wanna give it a try if none of you have asthma or breathing problems ! Hope it helps :)
